KPN approves sale of E-Plus

Dutch telecom incumbent KPN has approved the sale of its German subsidiary E-Plus to Telefónica Deutschland for €5 billion in cash and a 20.5% stake in Telefónica’s German unit. 

The deal is subject to regulatory approval. KPN will use the proceeds to increase its financial flexibility to recommence dividend payments to its shareholders.
