UPC Cablecom acquires stake in e-fon

Liberty Global-owned UPC Cablecom has acquired a 49% stake in Swiss voice-over-IP phone business telephony provider e-fon.

The cable operator said the move would enable both companies to expand the range of products and services they offer to business customers. The pair have collaborated in the small and medium sized enterprise segment for the last five years, with e-fon’s telephony offering complementing UPC Cablecom’s data services.

e-fon, which will continue to be an independent company, employs 26 people and serves over 3,000 business customers.
