Fox Turkey taps Grass Valley for playout upgrade

Fox Turkey has upgraded its Grass Valley-supplied production and playout system, doubling the capacity and bandwidth capabilities of its existing storage area network and integrating Fox’s daily operation and news production workflow.

The upgrade includes the deployment of Grass Valley’s EDIUS 7, K2 storage area network with K2 Summit 3G, GV STRATUS non-linear media production tools, and a new RMI-Ingest station for P2 media, according to Grass Valley.

“Having worked with Grass Valley for almost a year with their existing K2 SAN system, we fully understand the value of the company’s innovative range of solutions and applications as well as its extensive experience and unrivalled quality of service,” said Necip Kircin, chief technology officer, Fox Turkey. “This is why when it came to renewing and expanding our server infrastructure, we knew Grass Valley’s range of cost-effective products and services would offer us a clear system integration path and solution that would fit seamlessly into our daily operation and news production workflow, enabling us to meet the demands of a variety of different media environments.”
