Livas extends SeaChange software deal

Latvian cable TV service provider Livas Telecommunications has extended its multi-year TV software service deal with SeaChange International.

Livas uses SeaChange’s CASIS linear broadcast software solution to handle electronic program guide (EPG) metadata and digital video broadcasting (DVB) table generation for its multi-platform television services, and has worked with the firm since 2009.

“As a multi-platform operator, Livas’ priority is to maintain a single, high-quality and cost-efficient infrastructure that has the flexibility to grow and serve all of our audiences,” said Alex Pavlov, technical director, Livas Telecommunications.

SeaChange claims that its broadcast software solutions are used by more than 150 customers around the world and allow cable, terrestrial and satellite providers to offer linear channel subscribers more dynamic and personalised viewing through support for rich metadata.

At IBC SeaChange will demonstrate its linear broadcast solutions along with its new generation of software solutions for multi-screen delivery, subscriber experience, home gateways and advertising.

At the same time, SeaChange announced today that its Nucleus gateway software has been integrated in the launch of Netgear’s headless media gateway HMG7000.

The HMG7000 will be demonstrated at SeaChange’s stand, 14.B20, and at Netgear’s, 14.110, during IBC.
