Antiques Roadshow game played by 1.5 million users

More than 1.5 million unique users have played the BBC’s interactive Antiques Roadshow game since it launched in September.

The live multiple-choice valuation game accessible via the red button was launched to coincide with the latest series of Antiques Roadshow. According to the BBC, those aged over 55 account for 62% of users, whilst making up 48% of the overall audience.

A companion app for smartphones will launch in January.

Antiques Roadshow series editor, Simon Shaw, said, “We’re delighted to see that the Roadshow play-along has become such a hit with our viewers. It seems a very natural development to the informal guessing games people have been playing since the programme first began 35 years ago.”
