UK’s Ceefax ends today

The UK’s Ceefax TV text service closes down today, following the completion of digital switchover.

The BBC-run teletext service, which has been in operation for 38 years, has already been switched off in most of the UK. Northern Irish viewers will be the last to receive Ceefax. The service switches off in the province at midnight tonight. Ceefax was the first teletext service worldwide .
