Digital TV Labs updates CI Plus Test Tool

Standards conformance specialist Digital TV Labs (Stand U13) has launched the new version of its CI Plus Test Tool to allow manufacturers to validate compatibility with the new CI Plus v1.3 standard.

CI Plus v1.3, the enhanced security and content protection system that allows the separation of conditional access from the set-top box, DVR or integrated TV, will become mandatory for all new CI Plus device registrations from August 1. This follows an 18-month period to allow manufacturers to adopt the protocol. The CI Plus standard allows operators and broadcasters to secure content on digital TV receivers via the Common Interface and a Conditional Access Module (CAM).

Digital TV Labs has also launched the latest version of its HbbTV/OTT test harness and test suite, Ligada iSuite. The company has also launched Ligada Validator, a HbbTV application testing tool.

Ligada iSuite now includes a test suite for HbbTV v1.5, the latest published version of the connected TV standard including coverage of MPEG DASH and underlying OIPF test cases. Ligada also supports the new HbbTV profiles using version 1.5.
