Wayne Garvie leaving All3Media to become Sony TV CCO

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has recruited Wayne Garvie as its chief creative officer, the position vacated by Mike Morley. Garvie joins from All3Media and has been tasked with driving creative development across SPT’s network of joint venture companies and its production studios outside of Los Angeles and with turning locally developed properties into global formats.

Garvie enjoyed a successful spell as managing director for content and production at BBC Worldwide before his stint as managing director, international production, at All3Media. He will report to Andrea Wong, who was announced as SPT’s president, international production, late last year.

She said, “Wayne’s creative leadership across international businesses and his pedigree in entertainment production need little introduction. I’m very excited to have him join us and drive our team to spark ideas and productions that will have international audiences riveted.”

Garvie added, “Some things in life you can’t say no to. Working with Andrea, the great individuals and companies within the group and the ambition and size of Sony, all combine to offer a unique opportunity to create new global brands that entertain and inspire the world. We’re going to have a lot of fun.”

SPT owns production companies in Russia, Germany, France, Lebanon, Egypt, Dubai and Miami. The business also operates joint venture production companies in the UK (Gogglebox Entertainment, Victory Television and Silver River), France (Starling), Netherlands (Tuvalu Media), Lean-M (Russia), Italy (Toro), China (Huaso), Brazil (Floresta), Colombia (Teleset) and the US (Embassy Row).
