Volia extends HD reach

Ukrainian cable operator Volia has extended the availability of its HD service to seven more cities across the country.

HD services are now available in Lviv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Sevastopol as well as the capital, Kyiv. Channels available include National Geographic HD, Nat Geo Wild HD, Viasat History HD/Viasat Nature HD, Outdoor Channel HD, Travel Channel HD, MyZen.TV HD and Fashion One HD. A new local sports channel, Football HD, will be launched in time for the Euro 2012 championship, to be held this year in Poland and Ukraine.

HD services will be available for no extra charge for the first three months in the new cities to subscribers who sign up before May. The normal price of the HD package is UAH40 (€3.70) a month.
