South Africa approves framework for DTT subsidies

The South African government has approved the general framework of a scheme to subsidies the provision of digital set-tops to poorer households.

The government has approved the Ownership Support Rollout Framework for set-tops across the country as well as full subsidisation of indoor and outdoor antennas and installation costs related to a digital transition scheme in the Northern Cape, according to local reports.
