Norway sees runaway growth in connected devices

Households in Norway contained approximately nine million devices that are connected to the internet, with three million of these being acquired during the last year, according to a survey by Kabel Norge.

According to the organisation, 39% of homes contained one or two devices connected to the internet, 38% reported three to five devices, and 17% had six to 10 devices.  Approximately 1% of Norwegian homes contained no internet-connected devices.

The survey found that 88,000 Norwegian households contain more than 11 internet-connected devices, and 22,000 of them have close to 20 such devices.

Kabel Norge’s findings were based on a survey of 1,000 households. The results will be discussed in more detail at the Kabel Norge Congress on March 21-22.
