Google gets green light for Kansas City pay TV

Google’s Google Fiber arm has won approval from the Missouri Public Service Commission to build a pay TV network in Kansas City in the US.

Google sought permission to launch video services in Kansas City, which straddles Missouri and Kansas, last month. The Kansas authorities are still considering the request.

Google is currently in the process of negotiating rights deals that would allow it to launch a pay TV service in the city, where it has begun deploying a fibre network.
