Bahrain approves international channels

Bahrain is set to launch a number of international channels after receiving approval from the country’s media authority.

The Information Affairs Authority is to launch the Quran Channel and the Bahrain International Channel via satellite and is also prepping the launch of a high definition channel.

The Quran Channel is a religious channel that will air religious Islamic series, while The Bahrain International Channel will air a mix of programming from the country’s other main channels including Bahrain TV and Bahrain Sport.
