New Film Europe Channel launches in Slovakia and Czech Republic

A new pay TV channel dedicated to European movies, Film Europe Channel, has launched in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, with plans to launch in other territories later.

Film Europe will show up to 500 European films in their original version with subtitles each year. the 24-hour channel is broadcasting in standard definition via the Astra 3B satellite at 23.5° East, with an HD option also available via fibre networks.

The channel, founded by media entrepreneur and producer Ivan Hronec, will be available on the M7 Group-owned Skylink platformin both countries via Slovak Telecom’s IPTV service, with titles also likely to be made available on its Magio video-on-demand service.
