Lovefilm strikes Paramount deal for Germany

Digital streaming service and DVD rental firm Lovefilm has struck a deal with Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures in Germany. The deal will give Lovefilm subscribers the opportunity to stream Paramount Pictures’ releases during the first subscription TV window. It follows recent deals with Entertainment One and Studio Canal.

The arrangement includes the Coen Brothers’ True Grit, J.J. Abrams’ sci-fi thriller Super 8, and Michael Bay’s Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Simon Calver, chief executive of Lovefilm, said: “We are thrilled to announce this deal for exclusive subscription on-demand rights with Paramount and be able to offer their impressive range of films before any other pay TV provider. This agreement adds to the ever-growing, quality content that Lovefilm members are able to watch instantly, anytime they want.”
