Eurosport using Elemental to deliver multiscreen services

Sports broadcaster Eurosport is using multiscreen technology specialist Elemental Technologies’ platform to deliver its services.

In conjunction with local reseller B-Stream, Elemental is providing technology for both live and on-demand video transcoding. Elemental Server is providing Eurosport with file-based transcoding while Elemental Live encoders are delivering linear adaptive bitrate channels to devices such as the iPad and iPhone. Streaming video delivered by Elemental is also available online from Eurosport through the company’s Eurosport/Yahoo site and player.

Separately, Elemental has teamed up with Streamworks to provide technology to support online streaming for The Associated Press’s premium live video service, APTN Direct. APTN Direct is delivered online via AP’s partnership with Streamworks.
