MTS to invest in Nizhny Novgorod

Russian service provider MTS has signed a deal with local authorities in the city of Nizhny Novgorod that will see the company invest some RUB2 billion (€46 million) over the next year in developing telecoms infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region, according to local reports.

MTS plans to upgrade its wireless network in the region to HSPA+ and to lay new fibre infrastructure. MTS will also offer converged mobile, fixed internet and TV services to residents across the region.
