Diva launches consumer VOD connected TV service

Switzerland-based video-on-demand content aggregator Diva has beta-launched its new Viewster consumer offer.

The company has struck partnerships with TV manufacturers including LG, Loewe, Philips, Samsung and Sharp to promote the service. The Viewster service will initially be available in over 30 countries, according to the company. In addition to offering content via connected TVs, the service will be available to mobile users with Android phones, with Apple’s iPhone and iPad to follow. Content can be purchased as single shows or as packages, with payment made via credit or debit card, mobile debit of Paypal. A subscription model is set to follow when Viewster is fully launched in the first quarter of next year.

Content from major studios, as well as Bollywood, Turkish, Russian and Arabic content targeting expat audiences, will be available on a day-and-date basis, according to the company.

Diva’s business-to-business offer will continue to be known as Diva Pro.
