Ziggo and VimpelCom make bond placements

Dutch cable operator Ziggo has announced a €500m private placement.

The proceeds of the offer of senior secured notes, due in 2017, will be used to repay existing debts.

Separately, Russian telco VimpelCom is offering five-year bonds to the tune of RUB20bn (€470m) at an annual interest rate of 8.3%. The company said the funds would be used for development and expansion of its business.
