Sky Mobile TV launches on iPad

BSkyB has made its Sky Mobile TV service available for the iPad, which launched in the UK today.

The Sky Mobile TV app for the iPad is free to download and allows users to browse the EPG for free to see what’s on over the next 24 hours. The service offers access to all Sky Sports channels and Sky News. Subscription to the service is £6 (€7) a month for existing Sky TV and Sky Player TV customers who take Sky Sports and £35 a month for all other Sky and non-Sky TV customers. Existing Sky TV and Sky Player TV customers will get three month’s free access and all other customers will be able to sample the service free for one month. Sky said the new app had been created to take advantage of the large iPad screen size.

Separately, France 24 said its iPad app has been downloaded 8,000 times since its release on April 3, despite the device launching in France today. The app has been downloaded 6,000 times in the US. It offers live broadcast of France 24’s channels in English, French and Arabic, as well as a range of VOD content.
