Romanian telco Romtelecom, which operates the Dolce pay-TV platform, is to launch its HDTV service on June 4, in time for the forthcoming World Cup from South Africa.
All digital customers will be able to subscribe to the Dolce HD package, which initially contains channels TVR HD, ProTV HD, Sport.ro HD and Discovery HD Showcase for Â4.90 plus VAT. Viewers will also be able to receive HBO HD at no additional charge for the first three months.
HD equipment is available at discounted rates starting from Â49 plus VAT.
Romtelecom said that the Telesport channel, which is broadcasting games from the World Cup, will be available at no additional cost from June 1 to July 31.
