Movistar to launch iPhone TV service

Spanish mobile operator Movistar has announced plans for an iPhone-based high definition TV service that will launch in time for users to watch the World Cup.

From June, Movistar’s iPhone customers will be able to download an app giving them access to a range of TV channels. A six-channel package that includes football channel Gol TV will cost €4 per month. For an extra €1, users will be able to access 30 channels, including Gol TV. Thematic packages will also be available, including a seven-channel music package for €4 per month, a Latino package of five channels for €4 and a kids package of four channels for €9 per month.
