Blinkx records profit rise

Blinkx, the TV and video content search engine, has recorded a sharp increase in revenues and narrowed losses in the year to end-March.

The company also moved in to EBIDTA profit in the second half of the year. The company said that a surge in traffic in the past year helped it make both the comScore and Nielsen top 10 video sites. In the UK it claims to be the second fastest growing website behind Facebook.

Blinkx reported revenues of US$33.7m (€26.5m) for the year to end-March, compared with US$13.9m in the same period a year earlier. The annual loss was US$8.5m compared with US$8.9m in the previous year.
