Conax and TiVo showcase joint product

Conax used the ANGA Cable show in Cologne to demonstrate its joint solution with TiVo yesterday. Conax and TiVo have teamed up to offer a secure pre-integrated system to offer TiVo’s combined on-demand and DVR product to Conax customers.

Conax and TiVo will offer the TiVo experience, including the integration of IP-delivered services, in a package that can be deployed by operators using new set-tops based on Conax chipset pairing. The pair are initially targeting operators in Scandinavia.

“TiVo has the best interactive solution when it comes to over-the-top, internet TV and linear TV and we have signed a deal that will make this available to Conax customers,” said Geir Bjørndal, executive vice-president, sales and marketing, Conax. “We are currently running a project to integrate Conax and TiVo technologies and we want a solution with the shortest possible time to market.” He said he believed that the first European customers would go live before the end of the year. The pair aim to provide access to content from major Hollywood studios as well as content that could be made available through deals with local aggregators and other providers.
