Sky Deutschland selects Pace for Sky Plus

Set-top vendor Pace has announced that it is supplying Sky Deutschland with the German pay-TV operator’s new HD DVR.

The set top will include support for MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 decoding for standard-definition and high-definition video. As reported in yesterday’s DTVE Daily, the Sky Plus service will be based on NDS technology. It will enable users to store up to 50 movies in SD or 25 in standard definition. Dual tuners will allow viewers to watch one HD channel while recording another, or record two HD channels while watching HD stored content from the DVR. Pace said Sky HD receivers will be also capable of receiving future HD 3D services.
