UPC Slovakia complains about overhead cables

Cable operator UPC Slovakia has said it will launch a legal challenge against Romania-based rival Digi Slovakia, which it says has begun illegally installing overhead cables to deliver triple-play services in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava.

UPC says that the company, which since 2008 has only been able to lay cables underground in the Romanian capital, Bucharest, has been running overhead cables in Bratislava. According to UPC, the local building authorities have asked Digi Slovakia to remove the cables in accordance with the city’s building code.
