Net Insight wins new GlobeCast business

Transmission services provider GlobeCast has placed new orders with Sweden-based technology company Net Insight for the expansion of its media contribution network to handle GlobeCast’s services for the forthcoming World Cup.

According to Net Insight, GlobeCast will further expand its use of Net Insight’s Nimbra platform by implementing a major media network for an unnamed major European TV company. The network will handle uncompressed and compressed video channels using both HD-SDI, SD-SDI, ASI and Ethernet.

GlobeCast has also ordered new Nimbra nodes to be installed for the contribution links from the World Cup in South Africa to its existing and new customers.
