LG corrects 15,000 3D TV sale to Sky announcement

Consumer electronics giant LG Electronics has rowed back from yesterday’s announcement that it had struck a deal to supply 15,000 3D TVs direct to UK pay-TV operator BSkyB, reported in yesterday’s DTVE Daily.

LG issued a correction to its own press release, confirming that it is supporting Sky’s forthcoming 3D channel by supplying TVs to pubs and other venues. However, it said that Sky was helping its commercial customers buy 3D TVs direct from a third-party supplier and that it had not, in fact, ordered 15,000 TVs direct from LG.
