Liberty Global keen on Kabel BW

International cable operator Liberty Global is eyeing the acquisition of German cabler Kabel BW, according to reports.

The John Malone-controlled firm is looking to grow its German business following its acquisition of the country’s second largest pay-TV operator Unity Media for US$5.2bn (€3.8bn) last year. Liberty Global is expected to use some of the money it received for selling its stake in Japanese cable operator Jupiter Telecommunications – US$4bn for its 38% stake – to fund such an acquisition.
