Broadcast tech companies see sales decline

Global sales by companies supplying technology to broadcast and media companies declined 7.2% during the last 12 months, according to industry association IABM.

However, the latest Industry Index, which tracks the financial performance of broadcast media and technology companies, showed that the decline in sales was halted during the last quarter of 2009.

Almost half of the 61 companies in IABM’s sample made a loss in 2009, with 29% of organisations moving from profit into loss during that period. Seven per cent moved into a profit.
