Analogue stations appeal over Slovak switchover plans

Several Slovakian free-to-air broadcasters are appealing against the decision to reallocate a range of analogue TV frequencies in order to make the transition to digital, according to local reports.

The reports say that Markiza, JOJ and TA3 have appealed to the country’s Supreme Court, alleging the decision by the country’s Licensing Council was not carried out in accordance with the rules. The frequencies were allocated to Towercom, which operates two digital multiplexes in Slovakia.
