BigBand passes Edge QAM milestone

TV technology provider BigBand Networks has said that it has shipped over 700,000 Edge QAM devices to over 60 service provider worldwide to date.

The company has also announced the commercial availability of its new double-density BEQ6200 8:1 QAM, capable of delivering 96 QAMs per 1.5 rack-unit chassis and designed, says BigBand, to better enable the delivery of new TV services by operators with limited rack space at the edge of the network.
