Primacom and KDG in dispute over rates

German cable operators Primacom and Kabel Deutschland (KDG) are in dispute over the price KDG charges to deliver signals to Level 4 operators.

Primacom claims that KDG is overcharging and has filed a complaint with regulator the Bundesnetzagentur Angestoßen, according to a report in Die Welt newspaper. The regulator must rule on the matter by December 28. The dispute specifically concerns the charges levied by KDG in the cities of Osnabrück and Mainz, which were governed by longstanding agreements that have now expired. Primacom has called for the new rates to be cut by a third, but KDG says this would discriminate against its other network partners.
