Vivendi NBC sale window opens

The sale of US media firm NBC Universal to cable giant Comcast could move closer as the window for French media conglomerate Vivendi to sell its 20% stake opens.

Vivendi has between November 15 and December 10 to decide whether it would like to sell its stake in the company, which operates the US network NBC, a raft of international pay-TV channels and movie studio.

US conglomerate GE has been in talks with cable firm Comcast to sell its 80% stake in NBC Universal. The two companies last week agreed to value the firm at US$30bn (€20bn).
