Cyfrowy Polsat takes stake in mobile retailer

Poland’s leading DTH operator Cyfrowy Polsat has acquired a 45% stake in mobile phone retailer Mpunkt.

Polsat paid PLN24.6m (€5.6m) for shares in the company, which operates more than 200 outlets in Poland that distribute the mobile services of operator Polkomtel. It aims to use the stores to sell its range of services, inclduing pay-TV, internet and mobile telephony.

The operator expects to acquire a majority stake in the business after approvals from the Polish anti-trust authority UOKiK.
