BBC should charge for iPlayer says ex-exec

UK public broadcaster the BBC should charge consumers for watching programming via its catch-up service iPlayer, former BBC One controller Lorraine Hegessey told an in-house BBC meeting this week.

Now the chief executive of UK producer Talkback Thames, Heggessey said that her company had carried out research that had suggested viewers would be happy to pay £2 (€2.22) for certain BBC shows.
