Viasat adds TV4 and SVT to online TV service

Modern Times Group’s Viasat Broadcasting arm has secured its position as the leading player in the Swedish online TV market by adding the catch-up TV services of commercial broadcaster TV4 and public broadcaster SVT to its Viasat OnDemand portal.

Viasat said the deals mean that its portal now include the catch-up TV services for channels that attract a combined 68.2% share of viewing in Sweden.

The SVT Play service is available free of charge along with Viasat’s own services covering TV3, TV6 and TV8, while TV4 Play will initially be free of charge but will eventually be includes in a pay-TV package containing TV4’s offering.
