SES signs Astra2Connect deal for industrial markets

Satellite operator SES Astra has partnered with mobile and fixed satellite communication specialist EuroSkyPark to deliver satellite data transfer services to the energy, transport and security markets.

The service will be based on Astra’s Astra2Connect broadband service, which EuroSkyPark will resell to solar and wind power plants, utility providers and security operators. With the service, these businesses will be able to implement so-called SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) solutions, which are typically used to collect, monitor and control data.
