NBCU appoints international production chief

NBCU has named Denise O’Donoghue president of international television production at NBC Universal International, the role previously filled by Angela Bromstad.

O’Donoghue is the former boss of Hat Trick, the UK indie producer behind hit shows including Have I got News For You and The Kumars at No 42.

[Denise] has been responsible for producing some of the most defining television programming of the last two decades in the UK, said Pete Smith, president of NBC Universal International.

O’Donoghue starts in the new role on September 14. It was announced that previous international production chief Angela Bromstad would return to the US from the UK late last year as part of the NBC Universal shake-up that saw Katherine Pope and Teri Weinberg leave the company.
