Spanish watchdog criticises minister over pay-DTT decision

Spanish watchdog Manos Limpias has announced that it plans to file an official complaint against defence minister Carme Chacón for her role in the decision to launch pay-DTT services in the country.

Manos Limpias claims that Chacón’s husband has a relationship with commercial broadcaster Mediapro, which is set to benefit from the decision taken two weeks ago to allow broadcasters to launch pay-TV services on Spain’s DTT platform. The group said Chacón should not have taken part in the decision process due to the alleged conflict of interests.
