Sky Deutschland will stop supplying content to DT next month

Sky Deutschland will stop the distribution of its content to Deutsche Telekom’s IPTV service next month, according to CEO Mark Williams.

The pay-TV operator provides movies, series and sports programming to DT’s T-Entertain service, but has terminated the contract and will stop providing content from September 25. Sky Deutschland and T-Entertain had cooperated on Bundesliga coverage, but that deal has also been called off with Constantin Medien now on board to produce the telco’s soccer programming. Sky Deutschland’s Williams confirmed the date that the content deal between the News Corp-backed operator and DT will end on a conference call following the release of its latest quarterly results.
