Mixed results for Welho

Finnish conglomerate Sanoma, which owns the country’s Welho cable network and broadcast group Nelonen Media, said it had 67,000 pay-TV customers at the end of June, down 1,000 year-on-year. The company said this was in line with developments in the Finnish pay-TV market. 
Welho’s connected homes numbered 324,000, up from 321,000 year-on-year. Broadband internet connections were 110,000, up from 102,000.


Sanoma’s entertainment division posted revenues of €40.6m for the second quarter, down 0.7%. Operating profit was €6.9m, up 8.1%. The company’s TV channels’ first-half share of the Finnish advertising market was 33.5%, up from 29.8% year-on-year.
