Telecinco plans to invest in digital channels

Mediaset-owned market-leading Spanish commercial broadcaster Telecinco has said it will focus on investing in its digital-terrestrial channels La Siete and Factoría de Ficcíon during the last four months of the year.

Telecinco intends to launch a daily news programme on La Siete and to boost Factoría de Ficcíon’s international programming acquisitions.
Advertising arm Publiespaña will implement a new multichannel marketing strategy from August to build advertising around the digital channels. The company said the level of digital-terrestrial coverage now justified a new approach.

Telecinco posted net profits of €62.2m for the first half of the year, with gross advertising revenues of €309.48m. Total revenues for the first half were €320.76m.
