Orange to broadcast football in 3D

France Telecom-owned pay-TV operator Orange is to broadcast a football match in 3D tomorrow.

The Ligue 1 match between Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain will be broadcast live on 3D screens in Parc des Princes and Gerland stadiums where fans invited by Orange and the two football clubs will be able to watch it.
Orange will use six stereoscopic cameras to broadcast the coverage. The pay-TV operator first trialed the technology in 2008 at the Roland Garros International Tennis Open.
